My name is Le’Jera Payton. I am a second year student at Northern Illinois University. I was not raised in a religious home but I was very much around religion all my life. My mom, dad, uncle, grandma and great grandma were all baptized Jehovah’s Witnesses. My mom and uncle became inactive within the religion while I was very young and still remains inactive. Religion wasn’t a must in my home but we did occasionally go to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. As I aged I moved farther away from religion and stop attending the Kingdom Hall all together. It had been since almost 8th grade when I reached out to start studying the bible with a Jehovah’s Witness and started regularly attending the meetings my 1st semester of my second year of college. I realized through school meeting load of different people that I had a privilege that they didn’t. I knew accurate bible knowledge. I learned these teachings by studying the Bible, not only through studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses, but also through my person study. I am writing this blog to help share the knowledge I’ve learned. I am also writing this blog to share my struggles while I try to make my in harmony with bible principles to become a Jehovah’s Witness.
